અર્થ : હે લાખા! અબળા લોયણ તમને એમ કહે છે કે આત્મવિદ્યાનાં નિગૂઢ તાળાંની ચાવી તો સાચા જાણણહાર ગુરુની કને છે. એ તો તાળાં ગુરુજીને આવ્યે જ ઊઘડી શકે.<br />
અમરત્વનો આંબો — એનાં મૂળ (પાડ) પાતાળે (પિયાળ) અને એની શાખો સ્વર્ગે પહોંચી છે. એ ફળો ઉતારનાર માનવી તો ચતુર હોવો જોઈએ.<br />

ચાંદો જેમ સૂરજને તોલે ન આવે, તેમ આકાશ પૃથ્વીની તોલે ન આવે. ચેલો ચાહે તેવો વિદ્વાન પણ ગુરુ સમો ન હોય.<br />
દૂધેભરી તળાવડી સમાન આ ભક્તિ : એને પીશે તો માત્ર ગુરુગમવાળાં. ગુરુગમ વિનાનાં તો એને તીરેથી પણ તરસ્યાં જશે.<br />
કાશીનગરના ઘાટ પર — ગુરુજીની પાસે — લાખો આવે છે ને લાખો જાય છે. પણ હે લાખા! તને મોકલવાનો રહસ્યમય સંદેશો ગમે તે લોકો જોડે ખુલાસાવાર કેમ કહાવી શકાય?<br />
તું તો લાખો મોઢે નાણાંની ધીરધાર કરતો, હીરાનો વેપારી હતો. પણ ક્રિયા ચૂક્યો, કોઢિયો બન્યો, કોડીની કીમતનો બન્યો.<br />
પછી બાર વર્ષે ગુરુ આવ્યા. તેને સ્પર્શે તારું શરીર સોનાસમું બન્યું.<br />
મેં તને સોનું જાણીને સંગ કર્યો, પણ તું તો કથીર-શો કનિષ્ટ નીવડ્યો.<br />
