Currently Harshad frequently remembers that incident- Li Samudi Chikanee tanta Shauntafaibaee kahyoon, ‘aava bajara jay tyare oondar marvani tikadi leti aavje, Matha Maganni dukane malshe. Rahodama zeni zeni oondardiye baee vadhi gai s.’ (i.e. Oh! Samudi, Shanta Aunty said while inhaling snuff, get some rat glues. You may get it from Nathan Magan’s shop. There are countless small mice in the kitchen. ‘te eemon oondardione mari nakhvani hoon joor? Chapti vagadta Samu boli, hamnoo moon badhiye ooondarniye pakdi pakdi nakhi aavoon gomne gondara’. (i.e. Why do you want to kill these mice, I shall catch up all and throw away at the very outskirts of the village.) Thus there was a plan to getrid of mice. Samudi put some flour in a brass bowl. It was partly covered with a plate. Some flour was spread on the floor itself. Some flour was spread at the back of Oiltin and she sat quietly in the corner. She had not to wait too long. One mouse came soon. It smelled that spreaded flour, ate and ran towards that oil tin. Samudi’s turned nervous. But once again that mouse appeared at the back of the oil tin. It would try to inhale something and slowly move towards that brass broad bowl. Suddenly Samudi’s heart bit was too high and unthinkable sentiments as well curiosity about it! Samudi saw it was upto the brassbowl but she wondered whether it would be come up rightly! Meanwhile it raised up the lowbased bowl, quickly jumped to eat flour. It was a problem for Samudi to cover up that brass bowl as a part of its tail was outside. If she were to shut it up quickly… then what would happen to its tail! Samudi could recall at the back of her mind a familiar tale of a rat with seven tails! As she was just thinking, its tail was safe inside the bowl. Soon after Samudi moved slowly to half open that lowbased bowl to cover it. Then she jumped and began to clap. Thus she could get rid of mice while Nayna! Harshad had thought of to have a breakup of his betrothal in fact he was stunned up on seeing Nayna for the first time. Harshad had imagined lots of poses of Nayna ! He used to say among his friends with enthusiasm that – Nayna is just like a blank slate. I can put only alphabet on it. Very much like a porter’s mud, can give any shape to it! Very much like a fresh butter lump the moment you touch, it takes our finger print. Eyes like deer, smartness of a butterfly, height five and two pts. She must be of twenty, colour neither fair nor sunburnt. Delicate sweet voice. Beautiful symmetry, fleshy eyes brows. Glittering eyes like a newly born baby. Harshad had a lot of images. There would be countless pages about written matter. Generally, after betrothal one’s pastime is amorous dreams. Harshad used to gratify himself in his imaginary world even as a boy. Thus, there was a doubt about it! He used to crave constantly a bride of his fanciful world…. Symmentrical face, height, lovely waist, eyes, ears, neck, breasts style of walking, character, voice her choice, likes dislikes, temperament… every thing Harshad had imagined. When Harshad saw her for the very first time- Nayna seemed to be too shy as if she were too cool. Her face seemed to be reddish torch on a darknight. One could notice slight perspiration on her forehead as well on the tip of her nose. Her eyelids remain inclined inspite of calling her. It appeared as if her eyelids had the weight of that Mt. Govardhan! One could notice her fear complex, astonishment romance and slight nervousness too in mouth of Vaishakh. It seemed as…. there was kind of transparency not only of her body but mind too. Harshad could guess that she was affectionate affection, and sensitive only, as if gilded delicate feathers which Harshad had already dreamt of. Thus Harshad did not think about it he had given his consent of betrothal. But now constantly, he feels that it would have been better if he might not have given consent. Such types of his hurry turned out to be a matter of regret.
